I want to fit parking sensors to my C3 Desire 2007.
It all seems straightforward enough, but I just need to identify which cable supplies the reversing light. All cables feeding in to the light cluster are a different colour. From googling around I see that on other vehicles purple feeds the reversing light, I was wondering if purple is the universal cable colour for reversing lights. I suspect it's not as easy as that though.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Hi jerrybuilt,
According to my 2007 C3 Haynes manual its the yellow wire in the rear cluster plug which goes back all the way to the BSI, is the reversing light live wire.I just need to identify which cable supplies the reversing light.
Aftermarket parking sensors are much cheaper than ever and the sensors are available in a choice of colours to help matching to the body coloured bumpers and are available HERE (eBay). As you say, not a challenging job to install.I want to fit parking sensors to my C3 Desire 2007.

I successfully fitted parking sensors to my C3, it was quite easy really just a question of taking your time and working out how you're going to do it.
I bought a kit of buzzer only sensors off Ebay, they give you plenty of cable and there's even a handy hole with rubber gromit in the boot floor to feed the sensor cables in to the boot.
In my case the reversing light is powered by the brown cable, the yellow cable powers the side lights.

I have a 2010 c3 vtr+ and I'm trying to fit an aftermarket reversing sensors. I have no idea where to put the red and black power wires for it to kick in when I put it into reverse. Can anyone help?

If red and black are the only wires, I would hazard a guess that red is live when you want the system working and black would be earth.
You can pick up both from the rear light cluster.
The rear light cluster will have some voltages present and an earth available to power the reversing light. Just tap into the light wiring. To be sure you have the right wires, use a cheap multimeter to find the reversing light signal and a nice earth connection.
