Hi all,

Owned my C3 a week and it’s done this issue twice.

Driving along, I feel a jolt, then get a beep and stop message. I get an oil pressure too low and anti pollution faulty message. When I turn it off it starts again fine.

Car is a 1.4 HDI with 95k on the clock.

I’ve checked the forums and saw a few anti pollution messages but most of them are relating to starting. When I Google the oil pressure and anti pollution cutting out there’s a range of what people say.

It’s the ECU
It’s the fuse box
It’s the EGR
it’s a oil pressure switch.

I don’t want to throw a bunch of cash at things if it’s not right. I plugged in my generic obd and there was no codes.

I suspect the person I got it from knew there was an issue. I’ve only done 140 miles since I had it lol.

Really appreciate your help guys.

Hi

With a no faults found and a total power loss, look for the main battery supplies, main battery earths and alternator supplies. Along with power to the engine ECU etc.

It could be something as simple as a loose earth, but tracing it down will take a lot of time.

thats the issue I dont have alot of time :D I have been trying to work out when its happened if theres common things. The only thing i can think is, i put on the power again, like coming to a stop then going to pull away or more power out of a corner. .. EGR stuck open? Could that cut the car out

This sounds more and more like the earth lead/power lead problem that looses a connection when the engine moves as the power goes up or down and this disconnects the electrical circuit to the ECUs. That's why you don't get any codes stored as there is no power to store them.

The engine won't produce the power it should with a stuck open EGR, yes it can make it stop, but not run again so quickly. When they are stuck, they are very stuck. You can blank them off with a plate in a temporary test for stuck open EGR faults. Get the plate here on eBay
