Hi all,
Trying to replace dip beam bulb ive got the plastic cover off and the connector, Haynes manual (they are rubbish to what they were) says undo the clip twist and remove. I cant see anything (NS bulb) so I'm unsure what type of clip I should be feeling for, does anyone have a clear photo of the back of the unit so I have some idea what I'm feeling for? off out to purchase a ladies vanity mirror so maybe then I can see.
As an aside few years ago, the at the time girlfriend had blown front sidelight bulb on a fiesta, official way to do it front bumper off, I know car makers need work to maintain dealer networks but design today is definitely way too much form and not enough function.
Merry Xmas everyone
Peter

The pictures of the clips on the Citroen C3 headlamps are in this topic - C3 Headlamp bulb changing - some photos.
The main beam and dip beam lamps have different, almost 'opposite' clips, but the pictures should help. There is NO twisting action, its just a squeeze and push to release the sprung clips.
and the vanity mirror and cork trick is here

Thanks mate the picture is exactly what I wanted, now I can see what I'm attempting to do. The cork trick is a good tip as well but you failed to say whether to drink the wine before or after fitting, I think I will do both just to be sure.

Disaster managed to undo the clip and in attempting to remove bulb, both bulb and clip have disappeared, I have looked everywhere and can only assume they are trapped somewhere behind the wheel arch trim. I did not realise the clip could come off entirely and would advise anyone attempting this to stuff some rag into the area to stop this happening.
What to do now? are the clips readily available or do I remove the wheel arch trim to see if I can retrieve it, the problem is I have very few tools at home and if I drive it to the tools will it fall out on the way.
I'm wet, frustrated and getting old, in the past I've changed engines rebuilt them (including a Stag OHC V8) and now I can't change a light bulb.

The lamp clip is attached to the light reflector, you can't remove it completely. One swings up out of the way and the other hinges down but neither can be removed.deepfat54 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 2:24 pm Disaster managed to undo the clip and in attempting to remove bulb, both bulb and clip have disappeared, I have looked everywhere and can only assume they are trapped somewhere behind the wheel arch trim. The headlight assembly is sealed, there is no access to the inner arch from within the headlight assembly.
There is a metal bar clip that holds the outer heart shape plastic cover in place, this doesn't get removed, just unclip and it hinges up into a holding position while the lamp is charged. You can't get these separately, they are not supposed to be removable.
I don't know what you have done, but I suggest you take a break from it.
