Hello. I hope someone can shed some light on my problem . My wifes C3 is a 2015 1.6 HDI Blue diesel . A great little car . The problem is that since the cold snap it seems to take forever for the heater to work . Its been like this since new but my wife has not really complained until this winter . Is it a characteristic of the vehicle or should it get warmth to the cabin quickly . her previous care the DS 3 , also a 1.6 diesel warmed up and blew warm air much quicker .
I dont want to go changing the thermostat as the actual engine seems to get warm quite quickly
Any help or suggestion greatly appreciated .
diesel warming up time for the heater?

The early C3 models with diesel engines were often fitted with a supplemental electric heating element for the cabin because the engines were not as wasteful on energy as the petrol versions. The lack of excess heat meant the need for the cabin heater to automatically come on before the engine had warmed up.
This is what it looks like off the car (it usually lives in the centre console heater block)
Yours being a HDI Blue, with even better economy, I would imagine it is even more important to have a supplemental cabin heater. Either yours is not fitted for cost savings or it's not working.
This is it fitted to the early car. Yours could be on either side of the centre console

Probably best not to change the thermostat.
