One of the number plate lights on my 2003 C3 isn't working so I guess I'm headed for an MOT fail if I can't fix it.

It's not the bulb as I've put that in the working side and it works. It's not the lamp holder as I've swapped them round and they both work on the working side.

So it looks like that, for whatever reason, power isn't getting to the lamp holder on one side.

As chasing a wiring fault down is not something I want to attempt I'm wondering if I can power the two lamp holders from the one working power supply as a work around?

And maybe swap out the existing lamp holders with LED versions of the same to reduce the power demand?

Any steer in the right direction greatly appreciated.

Yes, I am sure you can.

The wiring for the 2 number plate lamps is split off one of the rear clusters anyway.

One cable from the BSI feeds the 2 number plate lamps and the rear cluster tail light.

But it would be worth double checking the connection wires on the lamps as these can become damaged when the lamp is removed.

There is a topic on how to remove the complete Citroen C3 number plate lamp units should they need to be replaced.
