Hi All,

59 plate 1.4hdi C3 done 92K miles:

I have had the odd Anti-pollution warning normally when starting the car for a couple of years. The car would turn over but before starting the starter would stop & "Anti-pollution failure" would be shown on the in-car display. More recently I have had the car cut out as I was driving at low stopped with "Anti-pollution" warnings or once or twice "oil pressure warning". Also now & again it will not even turn the starter motor when you turn the key, no click but once again "Anti-pollution". The car also seems to have a smelly exhaust when first started, quite choking actually, notice it as I keep the car in a garage.

I have a lexia & plugged it in, got the following from the most recent incidents:

Fault (D108) No communications with the engine management ECU no signal. Fault code U1108 ABS
Fault (D308) No communications with the engine management. Fault code U1308 ABS
Fault (F4C4) engine oil pressure. Fault code 04C4 BSI ECU
Fault (F015) No communications with the engine management. Fault code 0015 BSI ECU
Fault (7151) engine speed information. Fault code 0151 instrument panel
Fault (9528) no starter motor control. Fault code 0528 BSI ECU

Any thoughts? All help appreciated, this is doing my head in!

Hi zebedee2001

I would make a note of the full list (screen shots can save typing).
How do I take a screen shot of Lexia or Diagbox.

Then delete all the codes that are temporary or will allow you to delete them.

Then start and (if you can), drive the car again, get some miles on it and read the codes again.

Make a screen shot of the new codes and add them to your topic as a reply.
How to attach images to the forum.

This way you only concern yourself with relevant faults.
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)

Hi,

Would have replied earlier but been ill.

Those fault codes I listed are fresh new ones. I had cleared all fault codes from last time it happened.

That is a long list of codes, and not the usual suspects.

I would diagnose those with lexia, one by one. Take your pick on which one first. Just go through the lexia help and suggestions on what tests and checks to do for each code.

Admittedly, not all the codes may have solutions but do the ones you can.

It looks like a wiring or ECU problem, but you will have to do a lot of testing and inspection to diagnose that list :(

Replaced the Oil Pressure switch & it seems to have solved (so far) the oil pressure warning/stopping. Still get teh anti-pollution warning sometimes when starting. One thing I have noticed is that when you turn ignistion off you can hear a valve or solenoid operating 3 times. It appears to be coming from the back of the engine. Is this the EGR valve or the turbo value operating? Is that normal?

Do you know what engine you have?

I wasn't aware of the 16v engine fitted to the 2009 1.4 HDi, which is the only one I know of with a turbo electrovalve, but no, its not normal to hear the EGR or Turbo valves after the engine is switched off, or even hear them with the engine running.

It's only 8v 70 engine but is the Airdream + model. I assume this means it has more enviro friendly crap attached to it but have never found anything that actually tells me what the difference is!

Hi. First post. New to the joys of the c3 but coming from a scenic! We get the anti pollution fault and the click from the bsi. No turn over. Did the bsi reset. Did the shunt reset. My specific questions Re. Does the 1.6 hdi have a FAP? Additive reservoir? Also when reseating all the bus connectors I noticed the loose wire shown in the picture I will try to attach. Large grey single wire. Grey plug. I might have dislodged it when digging. Any clues appreciated.

Hi Greenmachine

The 1.6 HDi 92PS doesn't have the FAP(DPF)

The 1.6 HDi 110 PS does have a FAP(DPF)

You can't tell from the engine size alone.

But to be sure in either case, you will need the VIN to check. You can PM it to me if you like and I will look it up for you.
