A previous answer was:
Arfur Dent wrote:But when you come to refit, its is virtually impossible to get access to hook them back together without removing the carrier. Drilling out the rivets and popping some new ones in is much easier and makes it possible to re-marry the short cable and the handle mechanism off the car where you can see what you are doing
But if Arfur Dents answer wasn't clear, replace the pop rivets with more pop rivets as I think this is the most logical solution and is still working fine on cars that have had this done.

Use a gun like this pop rivet gun on Amazon (click here) as it doesn't need to be fancy and pick up a pack of rivets like this selection (click here) and you should have plenty of spares and loads to choose from ;)

Hi guys, I'm wanting to repair the lock barrel in my car as when key is in it just spins clock wise and anti clock wise 360 degrees, once I get lock barrels out is there a simple way of telling what part of barrel needs repaired? Is there any pics just to show the barrel and what I should be looking for

This is what the locks look like

this is another topic that has pictures of the locking system

When you have all the parts on the bench or kitchen table, you can try turning the key to see what does or doesn't happen and you may be able to work out at which point the turning stops, this is where something is broken or amiss.

Take lots of pictures so you can refer back to them when you reassemble your assembly ;)
