The Citroen C3 2002-2009 has a maximum unbraked trailer weight.

Each engine has a maximum trailer weight and are listed below.

This is the weight specified by the vehicle manufacturer based on their design. The UK legal weight for an unbraked trailer with no special licence is 750 Kg, much in excess of what the C3 is designed to pull and stop.


Petrol engine and manual gearbox:

1.1i HFX (TU1JP) is 526 Kg

1.4i KFV (TU3JP) is 540 Kg

1.4i 16v KFU (ET3J4S) is 555 Kg

1.6i 16v NFU (TU5JP4) is 566 Kg



Petrol Engine with the AL4 Automatic gearbox

1.4i KFV (TU3JP - AL4) is 468 Kg




Diesel Engine

1.4 HDi H8X (DV4TD) is 548 Kg

1.4 HDi 16V H8Y (DV4TED4) is 573Kg

1.6 HDi 16V 9HX (DV6ATED4) is 581Kg






The Citroen C3 unbraked trailer wright ranges from 468Kg for the 1.4 with an automatic gearbox to 581Kg for the 1.6 16v Turbo Diesel.
