A few months ago I had to replace a 50€ foam piece in the engine bay because the marten totally destroyed it. I tried to scare it away with smelly stuff, but it came back and started chewing on foam parts, seals and the bonnet sound cover

So, now I try this: a mesh in the engine bay, covering the area where the beast left muddy footprints :) It's fixed with four removable cable ties. I made sure it wouldn't chaff on any hoses, cables or ducts.

Previously the animal had chewed away the under-engine aluminium heat shield to get to the insulation

I fixed this with exhaust tape and sprayed a sticky wax onto it, which is used for rust protection. It smells and remains sticky, which the martens don't like. It's worked fine for two years now.

I think >> Citroen should add this mod to their list of optional extras :)
