A key fob upgrade that didn't get the immo chip quite in the right place would mean the car wouldn't start occasionally.

There wasn't any time available to track down and fix the cause, but a quick way to get the Citroen C3 immobiliser reset and hopefully work again was to disconnect the car battery for a short time and reconnect it.

This was only a temporary work around to get going again until the real problem could be identify and solved.

But it did help get the car started a few times before tackling the key transponder issue that solved the problem permanently.
(the immo chip was not fitted correctly in the replacement fob).
