My instructions on how to add cruise control to the early Citroen C3 are here. But, you can add cruise control to the face lift version too.
You only need the 'pod' style controller that plugs into the COM2000 and to cut away a bit of the steering wheel shroud...if you have the correct COM unit. The main PCB on the COM unit needs to have the edge connector to plug the controller into.
However I am not sure of a few things. There are a number of versions of the pod controllers with different options for the cruise control. For example the 'limit' function. To my knowledge the facelift engine ECU does not have the extra functions of the later models.
Another strange thing is that some of the MK1 COM's units also have the edge connectors to take the pod units (see photo below). The controller plugs in where the flappy paddle option would go. However the paddles do not use the edge connectors, the paddles push onto switches on the front of the PCB. So, despite the edge connectors being there there is no option on the MK1s that use them!!
Edit: There seemed to be some upmarket CAN-VAN (early 2000's model) Peugeot's that had the pod style cruise controls. I tried modifying a 'paddle' COMs unit to take the pod controller, but it didn't work. I removed the little switches on the PCB and the controller slotted into the COM's unit, but LEXIA did not recognize the switches in the pod controller. I would have to try and get one of those Peugeot COMs units but they are very hard to find.

Hello again,
I've finally found some time yesterday to fit cruise control.
I've followed your advise and I've bought cruise control pod without limiter (on/off).
Installation is much easier on facelift model - you just need to unscrew two screws under steering wheel column. You've shown this here:
And I had a dummy plug plugged into cruise control socket.
It was placed in the green area. Here you have a photo from back of this socket connector.
After removing dummy plug I just plugged cruise control pod.
After mechanical part I plugged in LEXIA and had done some changes.
To activate cruise control (and make it visible on dashboard screen) you need to add it in BSI Configuration by LEXIA interface.
Here I changed "Presence and type of cruise control".
After this step cruise control will appear on dashboard screen, but it won't work.
You need to add it in ECU Configuration.
This was a bit more sketchy for me. After entering ECU Configuration page I tried to change Cruise Control without Speed Limiter to present, but there was only one option - "absent". I changed Cruise Control with Speed Limiter to present and it worked.
You need to adapt down cover of steering wheel column. I just cut a small hole in it. Dimensions are approximate, so don't trust me to a millimetre. Thank you again for this tutorial @Ozvtr
With best regards and have fun during your Citroen (or other PSA vehicles) upgrades
