A few photos of the inside of the headlamp assembly showing the CItroen C3 headlight bulbs and the clips that need to be negotiated to remove the faulty bulb and then to secure the new bulb in place. Its not as easy as you may imagine.

Hopefully these photos will give you an understanding of what you are up against, as it may not be so easy to see with the headlamp assembly in the car, in the dark, in the rain....... :)

Dipped Beam

This is the clip for the normal driving / dipped beam light - H7 Halogen Lamp
(not the main beam/flash).

These H7 Halogen - Extended Life + Brighter Osram lamps have an extended life, hence less often changes. If you are going to spend an hour, or more ;) fiddling around changing bulbs, make it worth the effort.

Main Beam

The H1 Halogen Main Beam/Flash, has different, but just as fiddly clips.

These shots show the clips, but with the H1 Halogen Main Beam bulb removed.

Clicking the images will take you to a larger version of the pictures shown above.

The lamps you need for the dipped, driving, dim dip are H7 Halogen (Extended life + Brighter) OR Standard H7 12V 55w (Budget)

For the main beam, high beam, flash, you need H1 Main Beam Halogen (Extended life +Brighter) bulb.

When removing the old bulb, unplug the connector first (as shown in the photos) and only then try to undo the clips. If you do it the other way you will have to manoeuvre the clips around the connector/wires before undoing the connector.
For installing, just the reverse. Firstly fasten the clips after inserting the new bulb and only then plug the connector in.

This all saved me quite some headaches and time after doing it 'wrong' the first time round. ;)
There are some tips on how to change the C3 headlamp bulbs in this topic - Nearside Headlight Bulb Change Tip.
