To remove the C3 battery tray for access to the lower earth point, engine mount. brake servo, brake master cylinder or power steering ECU (ePAS ECU) first remove the plastic covers from the battery and then the battery itself.
The battery is released by a lever on the right and sliding the battery to the right after depressing the lever will disengage it from it hold.
The engine ECU (right hand ECU) can he lifted out on its carrier and put to one side or you can disconnect the ECU plugs.
The ePAS ECU has 3 plugs and these need unclipping (2 plugs) and the red one needs disengaging by pulling the red part out.
The ePAS ECU stays attached to the battery tray and if you are changing the ePAS ECU, drill the rivets to remove.
The 2 screws in the base (circled in green) are removed , the plastic flexy hose at the front and the cable clips mounts are released.
The battery tray can now be slid off its lower mount and lifted up, out of the way.
