Engine oil pressure comes on for a few seconds each time you switch on the ignition. If this warning lamp comes on,engine running, it tells you that the oil pressure is low. It is essential to stop the vehicle to prevent further damage.

Warning lamp for parking brake, brake fluid level and braking distribution malfunction. With the engine running, the lighting of this warning lamp indicates that the parking brake is on or not properly released, that the brake fluid level is low or that the braking system is malfunctioning. If the warning lamp remains on even after you have released the parking brake, stop immediately (if you can) and contact a CITROËN dealer.

Coolant temperature warning lamp comes on for a few seconds each time you switch on the ignition. If this warning lamp comes on, engine running, it tells you that the coolant temperature is rising abnormally. It is essential to stop the vehicle. Check the coolant level safely. If the level is satisfactory, consult a CITROËN dealer.

Driver's seat belt not fastened This lamp comes on if the seat belt is not fastened when the ignition is switched on and while the vehicle is moving at up to approximately 12 mph. Above this speed, the warning lamp flashes, accompanied by a sound signal for around 120 seconds. Then it remains on.

Battery charge This warning lamp should go out when the engine is running. If it remains permanently on, contact a CITROËN dealer.

SERVICE warning lamp remains on for a serious fault. Consult a CITROËN dealer as soon as possible. This warning lamp remains on only for a short time for faults that are minor. Contact a CITROËN dealer if necessary. To find out the nature of the corresponding warning, consult the Log of Alerts.

Fuel low It comes on for a few seconds each time you switch on the ignition. If the fuel low warning lamp comes on, there remain approximately 4 to 6 litres of fuel in the tank.

Depollution system It remains on until you start the engine. If this warning lamp flashes or lights up while you are driving, this indicates a problem with the depollution system. Consult a CITROËN dealer as soon as possible. See this topic for Diesel depollution fault help

ESP/ASR Operating comes on for a few seconds each time you switch on the ignition. If either of the ESP or ASR systems is active, the warning lamp flashes. For a malfunction When the vehicle is moving, the lighting of this warning lamp indicates a system malfunction. Contact a CITROËN dealer. Function deactivated while the warning lamp remains continuously on.

ABS system The ABS warning lamp lights up when you switch on the ignition: it should go out after a few seconds. If it does not go out, there could be a system malfunction.

Airbag Fault present is tested briefly on starting.

Diesel engine preheating is active

Foot on brake (Electronic Gearbox System) The flashing of this warning lamp in the dashboard indicates the need to apply the brake pedal in order to start the engine or engage reverse gear.

Stop & Start lighting of this warning lamp indicates that the engine is in shutdown mode.

Left hand direction indicator

Right hand direction indicator (both left and right indicate Hazard lighting is active).

Sidelamps on.

Rear Foglamps active.
