The Citroen C3 MAXI fuses are under the main engine bay fuse box (BSM).
Remove the BSM to access the hidden MAXI fuses.

Accessing the MAXI fuses by P1darbs
By removing the BSM module (engine bay fuse box).

In the engine bay, passenger side or on the right when looking in to the engine bay, you'll find the fuse box tucked away under the inner wing.
Disconnect the battery before doing anything!! TAKE MY ADVICE ON THAT.
Now after removing the fuse box cover you'll see a tray of fuses & multi connectors.
Remove all the connectors by first pulling the red toggles & lifting. Then tuck them safely either side of the battery tray.
Now you'll need a 13mm DEEP socket and ratchet driver...

Remove the black wire connected to the front side of the fuse box,
BE ADVISED THIS IS A LIVE WIRE WHEN THE BATTERY IS CONNECTED.

Now here's the tricky bit... You'll need a flat blade screwdriver to lever the fuse tray out of the box.

The TRAY clips into place at each side closest to you & furthest from you as you look from the front of the car.

Once you have removed this tray you can closely inspect each fuse then just put it to one side.
Now you will have exposed 5 or six wires coming into a fuse block! At the bottom of the fuse box.
Here I found one of the large 30 amp fuses popped!
Simply replace and refit your fuse tray in the reverse procedure of removal!
Ensure you have refitted everything before reconnecting the battery.

The fuse is £2:79p from Halfords. As they are large 29mm wide fuses sometimes known as Mega or Maxi fuses.
But may only be £1 from your local spares shop if they've got them or try amazon.co.uk (click here) and save a trip out. Also try eBay £1:75p (click here)

The maxi fuse box is attached to the underside of the engine bay fuse box by the big nut and thread which also attaches the black lead. There are also two rather inaccessible clips located under the fuse box holding the maxi-fuse box to the engine bay fuse box.

A note of warning printed on the underside of the Delphi engine bay fuse box, in french; "Ne pas laisser tomber", "Controler en cas de chute" which I think would translate to "Do not drop", "Inspect in case of a fall". The plastic is quite brittle and easily broken and there seems to be some electronic components inside the fusebox, but its always good advice not to drop electrical or electronic items.

I don't think they could.

The Maxi fuse box doesn't appear in the manual like the other fuse boxes and is considered a 'Citroen Dealer' job. I guess its if you managed to blow one of those, then you have some pretty serious problems and not something considered reasonable for the driver to sort.

Word of warning on removal of fusebox to get to the maxi fuses.
It may not be obvious from the above but there are THREE clips securing it, one at the opposite end to the engine, right under the wing, and two either side of the other end. It is a good idea to make a tool to keep the two clips away from the box that holds the whole thing. I used two strips from a beer can each one folded in two, but you could use pieces of disused feeler gauge or similar. I pried the clips away from the holder than slid the folded metal pieces in between to keep the clips from slipping back into their locking positions, which allowed me to pry the one at the end away and then lift the fusebox out, which was still not easy but a lot easier. You will not be able to easily lift it far as there are substantial wires connected to the maxifuse holder. In fact my maxi fuse holder came away from the top fuse holder while I was trying to lift the whole thing.
Best of luck

BSM - engine bay fuse box removal

004.jpg
I took this photo to help Stantleysteamer out but I guess it would be helpful here.

The problem in getting the fuse box out is the the maxi fuse holder sits below it and you can not lift it out any way but straight up. This requires releasing the three lugs at the same time.
