The Citroen C3, will it run on the new E10 bioetanol fuel being introduced across the UK?

The EN228 (E10) fuel is replacing the E5 petrol to increase the bioethanol content.

While being less efficient, the new mix replaces 5% of the oil based fuel with a plant based fuel (ethanol). E10 will replace E5 on the forecourt so knowing if your Citroen C3 can run on the new fuel mix is important.

According to the online E10 checker tool, all the Citroen models (including the Pluriel, the C3 Picasso and the C3) from 2002 are compatible with the E10 petrol.

All the Citroen C3 and Puriel models made, from the first in 2002 right up to the current engines, including the 3 cylinder are listed as 'E10 Compatible'

But not all cars can run on this new fuel mix, particularly cars produced before the year 2000 can suffer damage to the engine by using E10 petrol.
