I know that the C2 handles are physically the same.
I don't know if there were any other colours than black available for the C2 interior. Citroen only sold the VTR and VTS variants here. And I know that those interiors were black.
Taking the pivot pin out of the handle is easy. Putting the return spring back in is a challenge, but not impossible. So if you could find a suitable (cheap) set of C2 handles, swapping the bits over could be an option.

Now that the "other" C3 (scratchy) is in the hands of my younger son I was Wondering if there was some sort of bluetooth dongle that might work with the stock RD3 radio and the VAN BUS system?
I know it's impossible for the younger generation to survive a few minutes without communicating with someone. I, on the other hand have not moved into the 21'st century! I live in a world with (as Mr Spock would say) stone knives and bear skins! LOL! Best Star Trek line ever! Oops sorry, back to reality!
I didn't hold out much hope but Aliexpress has a device it claimed would work. The Yatour YT-BTA. It goes in place of the CD stacker. By that I mean the blue electrical connector plugs into the back of the radio and you select the CD stacker button on the RD3 radio to select the YT-BTA.
Ah! Now we have hit a snag. If you do not have the CD stacker installed then that option is disabled and this whole project comes un-stuck. You will need to gain access to a LEXIA to enable the CD stacker function.
Well I do so happen to have a LEXIA, so crisis averted! CD stacker option selected and on with the show.
There are a few options with this Bluetooth device, like the option to run the actual CD stacker as well, and some sort of wired remote. I bought the simple one that you see in the picture. It just comes with a 3.5mm accessory cable and a microphone.
So the main unit receives the bluetooth signals. It has a 3.5mm jack for the accessory cable and a 3.5mm jack for the microphone. That means it has 2 sources of audio. Either the bluetooth device (phone) or the accessory jack (MP3 player or phone or whatever). I'll get to how you select one or the other source in a minute. To select the YT-BTA as an audio source turn on the radio and press the CD Stacker button.
To select the either the Blueutooth or the AUX source, press the number 1 or number 2 preset buttons on the radio. The default is number one, the Bluetooth source.
The cool thing is that the radio control stalk can fast forward, rewind, pause, next and previous track a streamed bluetooth source. Such as videos or MP3s. Irrespective of whether the source is from the Bluetooth or AUX channel. As long as the device is bluetooth and paired to the YT-BTA. You could run a "dumb" MP3 player like an Ipod in the AUX channel and have your phone paired. You could switch backwards and forwards between the two. Or whatever!
If you answer a phone call the unit uses the provided microphone. But if you choose not to use the microphone, the phone's microphone still works as well.
Over all the thing worked a little better than I thought it might! It might still have a few "tricks up it's sleeve" that I haven't found but time will tell. Suffice to say my son is pleased with it...and he is very fussy! LOL!
The cost was about 60 pound which I didn't think was too bad.

Bad news. Scratchy, the C3 my son has, looks to have blown the head gasket!
When the other person had the car and when my son had the car the car boiled over a number of times. The culprit? The header tank cap!
It looks like the engine has lost coolant and over heated one to many times. This has caused the head to warp.
Currently it appears that coolant is leaking into the combustion chamber.

Sounds like a post for 'Citroen C3 1.4 head gasket replacement guide' in the tips section.
Still fixable with a bit of time and someone to skim the head?

LMAO
But be assured I will be documenting how things go here.
I'm a little unhappy that this has happened. It's not avoidable (cant see into the future) but the signs were there when I got the car back. My son commented that there was dried rusty water on the area directly below and around the header bottle. Clear signs that the system had over flowed before. And the last times he had to drive it was to and from work. Caught between a rock and a hard place I guess. All because of an inexpensive part.
Well I must say every one who has owned this damned stupid car has loved it and while my son was initially p...ed of about the situation, I'm sure he would like to have the little car back.

I hope so. I'm betting the head has warped and will need to be skimmed. Hmmm hope there are no cracks.Arfur Dent wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 7:08 pm Still fixable with a bit of time and someone to skim the head?
I had an old Ford TD Cortina, with the straight 6 4.1 litre engine. The 'top' radiator hose blew apart and and the engine ran dry of coolant and the engine stopped while I was driving along!
Replaced the top hose filled up the cooling system and away she went. I never touched the engine....it had an iron head!
I've owned one Mazda232, and one Ford TX5 (Mazda 626) and a Ford Meteor (there is a photo of it on this thread. The Meteor and 323 are basically the same.
Both the 323 and the Meteor suffered corrosion of the underside of the cylinder head multiple times and failure of the head gasket. But I haven't had one warp on me yet.
