Hello all, first time poster here.

I *did* have a 2004 1.6 Exclusive C3 which I loved, only had 86k on the clock and we'd had it for 4 worry-free years. It died its death on Monday on the motorway on a little trip away with my mam, sis and our kids. My hubby had to rush around back up home sorting out a new car.

He knew I loved the C3 so found us another, a 61 reg VTR+.

With the novelty of having a new(er) car I want to upgrade the CD player, seeing as I couldn't do so in the old one as it was integrated in the dash.

It sounds stupid but if I was to replace the CD player, would the controls on the steering column still operate the new one?

Thanks in advance and apologies for the daft question.

It would depend on 2 things.

Your new stereo will need to accept remote controls

and

You will need the correct connects 2 adaptor (see here) for your car and the radio you will be fitting.

With both of these met, the controls should work as expected.
