I don't know what you are asking.

You should have this:

Image

one end fits to the stereo

and the other connects to the C3.

Job done.

Sorry if i wasn't clear. I meant if the adjusted harness from the Sony doesnt fit the C3 wiring and i have to use the the extra harness would i need to join the yellow and red wires on that as they have male and female bullet clips on them.

Have you tried C3driver52s solution? If it doesn't work, I am sure they will be around to help.

Hi again. Got a problem with the stereo. Worked fine up until yesterday afternoon. Went to turn it on and it worked for about 1 minute. Now it comes on and shuts off after a minute every time. I'm thinking a loose wire on the car side wiring. Checked those but couldn't tell. If it was shorting what would I need to check? (wires touching)

Will it stay switched on with only a very low volume (1 or 2) on radio Fm?

I've not tried that. I will when girlfriend gets back from shopping. The factory stereo works fine. In hindsight it can't be a loose connection if the factory one works no problem. Fuse is fine too. The new stereo was in a friends car and worked fine. Always happens to me when I buy something 2nd hand.

Tried turning it on at low volume and on radio setting and it seems fine. I'm then able to switch to BT mode. What causes it to turn off then?

Drawing too much current that the swapped over supply can't give.

You will need to go to plan A and do this (but reading the topic, it may be better if you ask someone to do it for you)

Plan A

Check you fitting instructions and it will be something along the lines:-

I think the yellow wire will be the permanent live to the new radio. This is present in the car's wiring so will join to another similar wire on the other side of your adaptor wiring harness.

I think the red wire will be a switch ignition feed. The old radio doesn't have one of these so you'll have to connect this to another circuit. I'd suggest the cigarette lighter as it's nearby and the wiring is easy to get at. The bottom centre console comes out with a couple of screws.

If you post a picture of your adaptor and it's wiring diagram this can be checked.

But check your swap over connections are nice and tight before doing too much wiring.
