Replacing a u/s radio. Plus clock/temp display screen.

I have a 2002 c3 exclusive with no fm volume on the radio. (If I turn it up to max volume, i can just about hear it!)
It is the old model with a drawer under the radio. I have been told by my local I.C.E. shop that it will have to be replaced. So, can i use a facelift model radio? (55 plate -on?) Plus the matching non LED display screen which of course is bigger. Would they both be compatible if fitted at the same time?Obviously vin coding is needed for the radio, but does the dash display need this as well?

Hi h13drg, I have never seen this done.

The display communicates with the BSI as does the radio. The BSI may need to be updated to communicate with the later version of display.
I think you will only find out when you fit the parts and find that they do or don't communicate with each other.

I was afraid of that!
But If I can persuade a dealer or citroen help to answer my question, i will post on here... Watch this space!!
