Evening All,
I have just recently purchased myself a 2nd hand C3 1.6 XTR Diesel and I would like to transfer over the radio from my old car into this one. It's a Sony head unit with Bluetooth and Steering wheel control capability. However, I have been stressing myself out over how to do this due to the functionality the RD4 Stereo has with the 'A' Type Monochrome screen.

I could upgrade the head unit straight up, with a wiring harness to allow the use of the steering wheel controls. However, by doing this I would lose the ability to change certain settings accessed via the menu button on the RD4 head unit. From investigation in the manual, it does show there should be buttons to the left of the Multifunction display. There are none in reality, however I did disassemble the screen itself and there are holes and contact pads for where these phantom buttons should be, although I cant seem to get them to work.

I have seen there are bluetooth adaptors which can plug into the CD changer socket on the back of the stock head unit, but this is an extra expense I really don't want to have to buy.

Is there any way I can upgrade or modify the display to move the functionality of the menu and arrow buttons on the radio over to the display itself, short of going to my nearest Citroen Garage and demanding that they give me my buttons back as advertised?

Any help would be most welcome

Kind Regards

Justin.

Hi JuzzTF, no not that I am aware of. If you remove the RD4, you loose access to the buttons that it has.

The solution is to add, rather than replace, but is it worth the hassle?
