Hi!
First of all, sorry for my English! I'm new here, I just started to use my C3 and I love it!
A changed my factory head unit for an Alpine UTE-72BT.
I realized in the next morning, that the remote control won't open the door. When I open with my key tha head unit torns on, and all setting are gone.
After that I marriage the yellow and red wire, everything works fine, except when I turn of ignition the head unit wont, but its normal because the cables marriage.
After change the head unit the LCD shows only date and time and temperature, but mine is wired.
After I turn on the engine shows TA and RDS for 2-3 sec.
After that, when I shut the door freeze the door open warning, or other message
Sometimes just shows the temperature.
When I push the left button shows the language setting but not changeable.
If I push the right button shows the date and time or temperature.
Please help me, what is the problem, the head unit wiring or must configure the computer that is no head unit?
Thanks!
New head unit & LCD problem

Common problem. Fix by swapping the wires on pin 4 and pin 7 on the ISO power plug.Sziszi wrote:changed my factory head unit for an Alpine UTE-72BT.

You may have disturbed the plug that connects to the display or the display is faulty.Sziszi wrote:After change the head unit the LCD shows only date and time and tempereatura, but mine is wired.
You can see the plug I am talking about, in the video:

I changed the 4 and 7 pin, the head unit turns off after ignition off, about 5 minutes.
I checked the LCD plug, and I cut off the 5 and 6 pin (power antenna and the illumination), but the LCD looks the same.
Probably must configure the computer that is no head unit?

No, I don't think this is your problem. On the pre 2006 C3's the head unit and display are not so closely connected as in the 2006+ cars.Sziszi wrote:Probably must configure the computer that is no head unit?
Your display should show correctly with a aftermarket head unit without any computer configuration.
I would try another display, if you are sure the wiring is correct.
This is a good sign.Sziszi wrote:I changed the 4 and 7 pin, the head unit turns off after ignition off, about 5 minutes.
You shouldn't need to do that. If you cut the antenna power one, you may loose a strong signal to the radio.Sziszi wrote:I cut off the 5 and 6 pin (power antenna and the illumination), but the LCD looks the same.

Problem solved!
I disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, and now the LCD works fine!
