I have just fitted a Sony car stereo into my C3 1.4 2002 desire and it is causing a couple of problems. My battery seems to be draining also my central locking wont open via the key fob but it will lock using the key fob. I have sat in the car with no ignition on and the stereo off and every few minutes I can hear a relay clicking in the glove compartment fuse box.

I have now taken the stereo out but wish to use it as it was a xmas present from my fiancée and she feels bad that it is not useable.

Such a common problem :(

Swap pins 4 and 7 over of the ISO power plug to solve your problem.

The C3 doesn't conform to ISO standard, so when you wire up an aftermarket stereo with standard leads, you get this problem. Thankfully its a simple fix ;)

Pins 4 and 7 of the ISO power plug carry the permanent live and the switched live, swap these and its fixed.

Thanks for your reply Guru,

I have swapped over the pins you mentioned and will fit the stereo back in the car over the weekend. I will hopefully be posting back that all is well.

Cheers.
