Yes, the 2019 and later C3 has bluetooth wireless for android auto connection.
Obviously the phone won't charge over bluetooth and this is one of the reasons you see Citroen mention 'connection it by a USB cable' so many times in their literature.

I have a C3 which uses Android Auto. The phone is connected wirelessly and I can make and receive calls without the phone connected to usb. When connected to usb, the Android Auto and Google maps work as they should, but as soon as the usb cable is disconnected Android Auto stops working on the car but keeps running on the phone. I don't know whether this is how it is supposed to work, certainly in my case Android auto doesn't work wirelessly.

This is what Citroen say on the matter, which doesn't make it very clear.

I've just tried that. When I press the Android Auto icon, I get a message saying something like ' connect your phone via usb, or if it is connected, disconnect and reconnect'. So my system does't appear to work wirelessly.

yes calls and music with bluetooth work for me too, but not google maps and whatsapp, it's not a true wireless AA, and I can't understand if the touchscreen has wi-fi

Hi guys,
both Android Auto and Car Play require WiFi for wireless "screen mirroring", due to bandwidth.
(@Citroen-Driver your photo shows an earlier version of CarPlay, not Android Auto)
Calls and music over BT work in a different way and are not related to screen mirroring techniques.
I'm using CarPlay over USB. Works really well. When I unplug, CarPlay terminates.
Usually I need to recharge my iPhone anyway, so I don't miss wireless
I don't think our C3 has WiFi. But that's just an educated guess, as I haven't seen any WiFi-specific settings (e.g. switch it on/off, create a hotspot, connect to an external WiFi network...)

Follow up to myself
I tried the engineering menu. WiFi is greyed out, so not available.
My system is without sat nav.
