We have this connected to the C3 via the built in USB and it is connected and playing. However it will only play a playlist of less than 100 tracks. What gives? We want to be able to play anything ideally with the shuffle function that is stored on the Ipod. Is there something we are missing here, or do we need to add in some tech device, or will it simply not do this with an Ipod - but will with some other mp3 device? Its an older model Ipod so not bluetooth - would this work with a newer Ipod using bluetooth?
TIA
Roger

The manual says this
So I would contact a Citroen dealer with specific details about your version of i device and the radio you have fitted to check for compatibility. The version of software in the audio system may not be compatible with the generation of your Apple ® player.
The list of devices compatible with software versions is available from CITROËN dealers
I know that i devices don't communicate reliably with non (everything else) devices so I expect it to be a compatibility problem with the ipod.

Further manual reading gives this
So it shows the radio can do 999/2000 and its not a radio issue. The system supports USB mass storage or iPod devices via the USB port (suitable cable not supplied).
If a partitioned USB memory key is connected to the system, only the fi rst partition is recognised.
Control of the peripheral device is with the audio system controls.
The number of tracks is limited to 2000 maximum,999 tracks per folder.
If the current consumption at the USB port exceeds 500 mA, the system goes into protection mode and deactivates the port.
Other peripherals, not recognised on connection, must be connected to the auxiliary socket using a Jack cable (not supplied).

Thanks for the above. Further experimentation and we ended up buying an Ipod Nano 7th Generation.
Now playing this through the wired system (the usb and jack point together) but only using the USB gave us control via the radio and also the stalk on the steering wheel but although it will play all the tracks there is no shuffle. Setting it to shuffle and all songs as soon as it is connected via the cable the shuffle is countermanded and it starts playing from the first track....
If on the other hand I connect it to the other usb - purely the charging point nearer the handbrake it charges fine, it can connect through Bluetooth and plays fine, but the controls on the radio apart from volume are disabled and the stalk has no control over the Ipod.
So overall still stuck. Does anyone have a set up like this where they can use shuffle - if so that would indicate that there is a fault in the system on ours.
