I saw a post about aftermarket stereos needing to have red and wires switched, or to just buy this adapter: Amazon link
But when I looked at the Amazon reviews, out of the 2 currently there, one is from a C3 owner and says:
Fitted to my Citroen C3 & worked great but needed to do my own wiring adjustment to get power!
So, I'm a bit confused?

The stereo I have is Sony CDX-G2000UI and has normal connectors that match the cars (except for the aerial)

Thanks for any help here.

Pins 4 and 7 of the power ISO connector need to be swapped over on a 2005 C3 to get it to power down and up correctly.
I would imagine the reviewer is referring to this procedure. You can do the 4 and 7 swap with the amazon lead you linked to, but its something you need to do to it as the amazon lead reads to me as a standard straight trough lead.

The advantage of butchering/modifying the amazon lead is that the original citroen and the manufacturers leads stay standard if you even need to revert to standard or move the aftermarket stereo to a non C3 2002-2005 car.

The wiring changed in 2006 to a completely different looking connector than the one in that amazon link.

The wiring harness that comes with the Sony radio should have bullet connectors on the red and yellow wires, you can do the swap there.

You may still find that the radio behaves in an unusual way as the early C3s don't have a true ignition live at the radio. Depending on how much trouble you want to go to you can buy a harness with a flying lead (loose wire) connected to the ignition live on the radio. You then connect this to another accessory in the car that is switch by the ignition eg the cigarette lighter.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried
