The Autoleads PC99-X87 Stalk Adaptor Vehicle Lead for Peugeot Citroen
This interface connects a ALPINE, CLARION, JVC, KENWOOD, PANASONIC, PIONEER, & SONY, BlAUPUNKT stereo with a joystick input (blue line-in mini-jack on the back of the unit) to the existing stalk/steering wheel controls of the vehicle.

If you have a dashboard mounted audio display then this will not work once the new stereo is fitted.

A stalk/steering wheel control adaptor enables you to utilise the original factory remote audio (whether built onto steering wheel or fitted on a stalk next to the steering wheel) with an aftermarket unit.

The stalk adaptor is certainly suitable for the vehicle and radio but there is no mention on autoleads website of supporting vehicle functions and menus.

I can't find a download for the operator instructions on autoleads website, perhaps if you have them you can check about the extra functionality.

If it were mine I think a trip back to Halfords is in order. I'd check into the extra functions, like setting the clock, that the connects2 interface gives and the one they've fitted appears not to?

I think confirmation of your answer lies in this link, not the same model but I think the principle applies
