So my little 04 reg car had controls for the audio on the ends of the wiper controls. All was fine until the other day the skip buttons stopped working, volume still works fine. :s
Has this ever happened to anyone else/does anyone know a fix? I've tried cleaning the buttons to no joy (previous owner was a grot as the car was a mess. I keep thinking the stalks might need replacing. Is this even possible?! In the grand scheme of things wrong I know it's not massive, just hoping there's a simple fix! Thanks, Jay.

You can replace the end of the stalk with the buttons on. If you can get one cheap enough, or the complete stalk and take the end off, I'd try this first. If the other buttons are working then hopefully it's nothing more than a dodgy button contact.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

Just removing the module on the end if the stalk and refitting it may be enough to cure it. The button module has some simple switches and a complicated encoder mini circuit board.
