Ref my 55 reg C3 Desire. My CD player has developed a fault , it won't eject the CD, just makes a clicking sound?
I removed the unit and partially stripped it down so I could manually remove the CD. But, after reassembly, still got the same fault/clicking sound when pressing the eject button, even without a CD inserted. Do I have to replace the unit? If so are there any problems in getting a used one from a breakers yard or on Ebay? Would this mean I have to have a special code to activate the unit and match it into the car's CPU? How do you do that anyway? The radio part still works perfectly by the way!
Any help or suggestions appreciated

Welcome to the forum ssmassy,
Or you could just go for an after market radio, loose some functions if the citroen radio buttons access the dash display and avoid the need to recode. Have a look at this one on ebay, its been fitted to one of our members C3s, with a clever way to keep the original radio functions
You need to swap the power connections over if the remote central locking stops working overnight with the after market option.
If you can't fix it, then yes, replace it.But, after reassembly, still got the same fault/clicking sound when pressing the eject button, even without a CD inserted. Do I have to replace the unit?
Yes, another factory fitted radio from a 2005 C3 will need coding, as you suggest. The dealer tool for doing these sorts of jobs is lexia. There is a post about it here https://citroenc3owners.com/citroen-c3-t ... -t655.html.If so are there any problems in getting a used one from a breakers yard or on Ebay? Would this mean I have to have a special code to activate the unit and match it into the car's CPU?

I think I can live without the CD as I use it so rarely use it. Thanks for your suggestions anyway, much appreciated

I am not going to say 'Yes' because I don't know what pins the Yellow and Red wires are connected to on your adaptor.Chrisdaws wrote:Thank you very much for help what wires r the one in the adapter lead stereo lead there is a red and a yellow r theses the ones I need to swap
You can check the wire colours of your lead that are connected to pin 4 and pin 7 of the Power (A) connector by comparing with this picture
https://citroenc3owners.com/audio-citroe ... o-t44.html
Then you can make the choice to swap them over.
Only swap 4 and 7 of the A plug over

I'm hoping someone can help a frustrated, about to go mad, middle aged man. I can put in the cd inot my C3 player (but not all the way otherwise it'll need tweezers to get out) . I leave it parked and come back and it's ejected it!!!! So it can eject but can't take it in. I've tried another radio but don't go there. BEEP BEEP! VIN doesn't match etc etc. Done it. Been there. What is wrong with my cd player? It'll eject but won't suck it in! Anyone that can help, I beg you!! Answer my prayer!
