Hello - My wife recently got a new C3 and is very happy with it. I have seen that Android Auto should be supported during 2017, and have seen others mention in this forum that they have it. Our C3 came from a dealer who has had the car since the end of 2016, and I believe the touch display firmware isn't up to date - these are the installed version details:
System Information: 12FDI
HMI version: 20.522.45.4.0
iMX version: x0011046_161020_15.7A133.5
V850 version: W2.0_16.1C26.1
I emailed Citroen, and they said take it to the dealer... Have other owners been able to download/install updates to the display?
My phone does support MirrorLink, but my wife's does not. In any case, I don't want to pay £60+ for an "approved" navigation app like Sygic that is (in my opinion) inferior to Google Maps, hence the interest in Android Auto...
Thanks in advance/Paul

The dealer would be your best bet. You will need the firmware and a very-up-to-date lexia to do anything like this yourself.paulf wrote:I emailed Citroen, and they said take it to the dealer... Have other owners been able to download/install updates to the display?
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel

There was a recall to do a free update to the software as there were a couple of bugs in the early release. This also introduced Android to go with Apple CarPlay. I would check with your dealer to see if has been done. It has to be done by a dealer, but it comes under warranty so you should get a loan car for the day while they do it. Only problem is that your phone has to be plugged into the audio to work as a sat nav, however it is very effective with Car Play and Siri voice commands work well. I don't have an Android phone but see no reason why it should not be as good.

I second that. Speak to the dealer. However my dealer did not know what Android Auto was so I just asked for the latest software to be installed (as I was also losing radio presets anyway). Once the car was returned (it did take nearly 6 hours, I think they also updated engine management software, etc). Android Auto was installed!
Having Google Maps (with traffic highlights) and Spotify/Google Play Music in the car is fantastic! I did get fed up plugging in my phone however.
I decided to dust off my old phone (Moto G 2014) and put a £3.99 a month SIM in it from The People's Operator with 1GB data.
Android Auto doesn't use huge amounts of data (you can make available offline your local maps and music, etc)

I made a guide about how to update software by yourself. I think it's the most convenient way

Hi,
You can follow the manual of the previous post.
I already did the update through this method and it went well.
