Hi all just bought a CD player to go in my c3. Took the standard one out its hole and took the new one out the box. I'm confused as to what I need to do as the new one has open wires and there is obviously plugs from standard wiring. How is this done.

Hi Wilko9876

That bundle of wires with bare ends should unplug from your new CD player and this gets binned.

What you replace it with is an adaptor that is made for your CD player and the C3 (one end is C3 compatible and the other is your CD player compatible).

You your CD player is the ICS105, then it should be an ISO compatible CD and you will need to switch wires 4 and 7 over on the ISO power plug to make it C3 compatible.

There are leads you can buy that will do this for you, but I don't currently have a link to them to hand....

If you have stalk controls you want to use, that's a whole different connector.

Can you remove the plug with the wires from the stereo and take a picture of the connector and I will have a look if I can see which one you need.

You didn't say if you have stalk controls, or if you need to keep that function.

Got the right connector and connected the fly lead to cigarette lighter power. All works. Except it doesn't turn on with ignition, turns off but not on??

Does the radio remember stations or turn on like it's powered for the first time?
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried
