I am just fitting a chinese double din stereo and I am not sure which wires are for the stalk controls.
the stereo works fine i am just unsure what the last three wires are in the ISO connector.
my new stereo has Key2 and key1 wires for steering wheel controls
I have looked at other posts and they seem to have different colour wires to mine so i just want to make sure
hope someone can help
thanks
Dave

The wires have numbers printed on them for identification and the plug connection that they terminate at will have pin numbers to identify them.

Can you add both those bits of missing information to your post please :)
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)

Hi the wires are stamped with this
brown wire XE150
green wire 9005E
red wire 9004E
the brown wire is in pin D
the green wire is in pin C
and the red wire is in pin B on the ISO plug
could the green and red be the stalk remote wires?
the old stereo was a clarion PU 2471
many thanks :D :D :D

This is a section of that ISO plug from the Clarion PU2471 diagram

It shows 'DATA+', 'VAN' and 'DATA -'. I don't think these are the sort of connections that would go straight into a chinese radio, because I expect this maybe looking for resistances that switch - but it would depend on which double din you have.

You will probably need an adaptor, like the Connects 2 C3 OEM stalk adaptor (on Amazon).

The C3 stalk controls don't wire directly to the Citroen stereo, they are interfaced by the COM2000, multiplexed and sent to the BSI for connection to the radio. This is a lot more complicated than the aftermarket way or early systems that had resistors in the remote switch and these went directly into the stereo.

If the double din can talk 'CAN', I think you will still have problems because the C3 connection to the Clarion is 'VAN' and they are not directly compatible and will need an adaptor.

Interestingly, just because there are two 'KEY' wires, they don't always get used. I looks like and either - or situation for a data connection.

China radio KEY1 and KEY2 wires
1) Our Unit have 3 cables for the steering wheel function (GND cable, Key 1 and Key 2 cable)

a) GND cable connects to negative
b) Key 1 and Key 2 cable connect to the vehicle to get the function for the buttons on the steering wheel

2) First, Uninstall the original head unit from the vehicle

3) Unplug all the cables

4) Connect the cables for the speakers, power and radio antenna.)

5) The rest of the cables are for the steering wheel control function. GND Key1, Key2

Basically, the headunit produces 5V from Key 1 or 2 then when grounding it makes the loop so that when you press a button on your steering wheel, then the headunit detects the approprate voltage drop and reacts to that.
How to find out the steering wheel control function on the vehicles
Use the multimeter , to touch any 2 of the cables, then press any button on the steering wheel . Until the beep sound is “On” on the multimeter , then that means those 2 cables are for the steering wheel
control, if no beep sound when try the first 2 cables, then try the rest of the two cables until got the beep sounds.
Once found the cables (2 or 3) on different vehicles
Then just connect those cables from the vehicles to the key 1 and key 2 cable on our unit, then go to the steering wheel setup page on our unit, and set the function for all the buttons on the steering wheel controls to our unit

Remarks:
Our unit is only compatible to the analogue steering wheel control. If you have digital steering wheel control you may need to use an adapter.
The C3 is digital (VAN/CAN or CAN/CAN depending on year 2002-2006 and 2006 on) so you would need an adaptor for the above analogue China radio Key 1 and Key 2 wires. Don't connect the key 1 or key 2 wires with their 5v to a C3 bus directly.
