This topic has pictures of sub power routing on a C3 which may give you an idea on what's involvedsamuelodog wrote:I have now seen a few videos of installing subs, doesn't seem too bad - seems the only hard bit is getting the power lead through to the battery?

Thanks guys.
I just realised, I think I can keep my old stereo in - which would negate the need for a CD drive, as my cd drive is only in use for my phone clip.
There is a space of the same size beneath the stereo, could a new one go in there?
Do you think these stereos look good:

One of them lists a 'Direct Sub Drive' - do they all have this? Is this just tech-spiel? Or do I want that?!

Pioneer says this about direct sub:
Instead of connecting 2 rear speakers, you can opt to connect a subwoofer in 2Ω mode to one of the rear speaker outputs. 70W power will be delivered to the woofer for a powerful bass sound experience, without the need for an extra amplifier. It's an easy solution for lovers of booming bass.
Would this change my need for an underseat sub? Could I get something else instead that will now be easier to install?
Thanks

Where would you put the sub (woofer) if not under the seat?samuelodog wrote:Would this change my need for an underseat sub?
I thought they mean't you could put a sub in the door instead of a rear speaker?
so, is its just running a sub off the rear speaker link? If so - is this easier than connecting it via the radio?
Sorry - I'm getting muddled here.
Shall I just stick to plan A? - I have that £75 radio on the way, which also has that Direct Sub Drive,
but I just get an underseat sub and run that behind the stereo and put lead through to battery etc...

'Almost. You'll need a wiring adaptor, these can be bought on ebay for a few pounds.'
Please could someone point out to me which one of these I need?
'Do you have a trip computer or audio controls on a stalk near the steering wheel? ...you want to retain the use you'll need an adaptor for that too?'
If by trip computer you mean the thing on the stalk I press that tells me how many miles I have done and mpg etc - then yes. And I want to keep this - so which adapter do I need for that?
'You may also need an aerial adaptor' - please point this one out too!
Many thanks
Nearly there!

Sorted the aerial adapter,
But the trip computer is tricky. I have been told I need:
CTSCT003 Citreon steering wheel control interface
Pioneer Multi-Stalk Patch Lead
But on ebay, the CTSCT003 says it is only for C3s aFTER 2006?:
Is this the right one?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CTSCT003-2-Ci ... 1495453986?
And I still don't know what a 'wiring adapter' is.
Thanks

CTSCT002 is the one for your model.
If you buy this, you don't need any other wiring adaptor.
Do you have audio controls on the same stalk as the trip computer button?

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

No, no audio controls, just trip computer. Why is the car audio centre saying I need CTSCT003? I keep telling them my car model!
