Hi guys
C3 1.1 TU1JP 2002
Can anyone tell me what this hose does, and whether it matters that there are splits at the end approx a few millimetres in length.
There's no jubilee clip, so does it matter if it's not air tight? Would it be a good idea to cut off the last cm (with a hacksaw) to rid of the splits?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
What does this hose do?

Hi Arfur
It connects to the fuel injector rail, then to the offside bulkhead.
I hope that helps.

It looks like a fuel return or supply pipe. Yes it would be a problem if this failed and you should replace the complete pipe as cutting it off or sticking a jubilee clip on it may not make a fuel tight fit.
The pipes come as a pair and trace back to the fuel tank.
The big plastic grommet that the 2 pipes go through is removable.
Like part number 1574.H3 in the diagram below marked as number 1

Hi Arfur
Thank you so much for your research and uploading the diagram.
That is very good information, and for me surprising as I assumed it was some kind of breather or vacuum hose!
As you say I won't attemp a repair, and will talk to my local trustworthy garage as I don't fancy doing this particular job myself.
May I chance my luck and ask another question - I'm looking at changing the car later this year or next and am thinking about a C3 Touch, and have ruled out the Feel/Flair as I don't want the built-in touch screen. Do you have any views about the build quality or reliability of the latest C3?
Thanks once more for your invaluable help.

Very wise. You can't be too careful with petrol and its fumes wile working on on the fuel system.justintime wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 5:49 pm As you say I won't attemp a repair, and will talk to my local trustworthy garage as I don't fancy doing this particular job myself.
It's too new to get much feedback on faults and long term problems. They do diesels and petrol, try putting your question The Citroen C3 Club area! and see if it generates any repliesjustintime wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 5:49 pm May I chance my luck and ask another question - I'm looking at changing the car later this year or next and am thinking about a C3 Touch, and have ruled out the Feel/Flair as I don't want the built-in touch screen.
