Hi I am new here. I recently bought a used c3 2007, still looks and works great, however when I accelarate from a stop or change gears the car violently surges at around 2500 rpm. When it reaches 3000 rpm the surges are gone and goes normally. It starts easily, even when cold. Idles smoothly and doesnt backfire or die. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thnx

Hi

With that many miles on the clock, I am surprised the engine is still running.

Is this the original engine or a second hand one fitted?

Yes according to the previous owner and it's papers, this is still the original engine. It was really well taken care of with all services done at the dealer. And really feels good on the road. No smoke nothing. Just the surges.

Hi Franco,
I'm trying to work through a similar problem with another member here.

Its a different type of engine but the symptoms might be the same. Can you have a look and see if anything sounds familiar? There are a few sensors that are the same on the two types of engines so common failure modes are not out of the question.
