Not wanting to hijack the thread, but wanted to know how to check if the pedal is working outside the car.
I wondered if I put 5v trough pins 2 and 4, and check the output on pins 1 and 3 I could check expected voltages coming out of it. That should work if it was a simple potentiometer, but with hall I dont know.
I tried that approach and voltage is always constant in pins 1 and 3, it never varies when I press the pedal. I also could not find what would be the expected voltages on the pedal.

Update
After trying all the ideas on here and other places I had to admit defeat and get an auto Electrician involved so after £375 and a new battery the car is up and running again had a new ecu kit and an issue with the fan running all the time has also been cured

Just swapping the pedal out with another is enough to cure the TPS faults. Cheap enough to buy here on ebay.
