Hi all
New here, hopefully this is in the correct section.
I am trying to help a friend out with their C3, it’s a 2006 1.4 model.
Problems first started before I started lookin at it, it had ecu problems and a garage fitted a recon ecu.
Since then the cooling fan has been continually running which is one of the issues.
She told me the car had been overheating and using a lot of coolant, so she took it to Halfords who diagnosed the radiator.
Somehow the radiator got punctured and this is when I started looking at the car.
I fitted a new radiator and filled with new coolant and bled and all was well for a few weeks.
Then she comes back to me and says it had randomly started overheating again, this happened on the day of a frost, which was weird.
So I suspected the thermostat and bought a new one and a new thermostat housing as it also came with a new coolant sensor, from what I read it was one of the things that could be affecting the cooling fan, but since putting it back together, it doesn’t seem to have fixed the fan issue.
Now the problems I’m having, I bought the new parts from ECP and the thermostat housing didn’t come with a gasket, and I have searched everywhere for a gasket for the housing, but it has proven extremely difficult, as with trying to find any information to help with this car online, it’s very scarce.
And finally does anyone know the torque settings for the thermostat housing bolts?
Many thanks
Jason

Hi Jasocmor
The 8v 1.4 petrol TU3 is a *very* common engine fitted to not only the C3, but other PSA models.
Can you PM me (or just post here) your VIN and I will take a look to see what is so special about this engine and hopefully can track down the thermostat housing gasket and the torque settings for the housing.
