54 plate c3 starts fine but only runs when foot is kept on accelerator.according to the hand book in the car the depollution light is on.this light looks like the normal eml to me.i am new to the forum and would be pleased for any help with this

Hi dunderheed, if you use an OBD Reader (from eBay) or the lexia reader to get the error codes generated by the car, this can go a long way to start diagnosing the problem.

ordered a code reader from ebay will need to wait till thursday

plugged in a maxiscan ms309 and came up with code p0204 and injector circuit open cylinder 4 does this mean new injector required?

Check the plug and wiring to the injector first, even better if you can meter it back to the ECU before you buy a new injector, but it is quite likely that the injector is faulty.

Also have a look at petrol-c3/leaking-washer-jets-causes-da ... -t584.html which describes the fault where water drips onto the injector plug to see if yours is affected.

took a while to get it done but swopped injectors 4 + 3 and the fault travelled so got an injector on ebay for £16.fitted it today and car now running fine.looking at the faulty injector it looks like water has been dripping on to it like the fault in the windscreen wipers causes on these cars.thanks for all the help
