Hi all. I'm new here so please bear with me.

I've had a lot of issues with my C3 recently and it's only just passed MOT after failing 7 times on emissions.
Last month I changed both lambda sensors, the temperature sensor and the back box and finally my car was running smoothly again.
Today an engine light appears and driving becomes jolty, the exhaust just doesn't sound right and it's really struggling to gain speed, almost dying on me in the middle of the road. The engine light code is PO141, an issue with my lambda sensor. But why is this happening when I've only changed them last month? Can anyone help me or suggest how to solve this problem? I've cleared the codes and they come back instantly, and taken the offending sensor out and put it back in again (have you tried turning it off and on again haha)
I really can't see how I'd need a new sensor already, they're supposed to last for 60k miles?

Please help!

P0141 is O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
But this doesn't mean the sensor is faulty, only that the ECU detects a fault.

The fault being the ECU is not detecting an acceptable signal from the O2 sensor heater circuit monitoring.

The sensor 2 is after the cat (post catalytic converter) and monitors the emissions when in closed loop mode (engine warmed up).

Sensor 2 monitors the output of the cat.

The fault can be the sensor, the wiring electrical supply to the sensor or even the engine ECU itself.

Interestingly you are suffering performance issues too. This may be causing the sensor to become faulty rather than the faulty sensor causing the performance issue. I would read the codes again, a cheap OBD2 reader should do the job and you may see injector or ignition codes. These could give you performance issues and affect the O2 sensor data.

Did you check the old O2 sensor looked OK and even tested ok for the resistance on the heater circuit after it had been removed?

Hi ... did you get this problem resolved? ... It looks like I have got a similar issue, annoyingly intermittent at the moment, so proving very difficult to get to the bottom of .... PeteM.
