Hello CarlJ
This sounds very serious, petrol leaks are bad news!
Have you any idea where the petrol is leaking from?

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

No idea. Can't determine If it's from a pipe or directly from the tank.

OK, so from what you're saying it's at the back of the car?
If it is and you don't want to get into a repair then I think a visit to a garage is due very soon.
I can't stress how flammable petrol/petrol vapour is, please be very careful.

I would suggest parking it away from any others cars or buildings then getting it checked out asap by a mobile technician or get it lifted onto a low loader and taken to a garage.
