Hi this is the first time I have added a message so I hope someone can help?
I have just paid £110 for a new radioator and thermostat due to the garage saying they had put a thermal imaging camera on my original one and there was a blockage. Also that the water going into the radiator was hot but was leaving the radiator cool.
Hence the non starting after the engine was hot.
Same night I went out and did a stop start journey. On the fourth time the ignition just clicked and wouldn't start again!!
Would this be caused by the alternator or battery (not charging)? Rather than the radiator.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Sharon

Hi Sharon, welcome to the forum.

This is what is supposed to happen. The hot water enters the radiator, the heat is then radiated to the passing air flow and cooler water leaves the radiator and back into the engine to be heated again.

When you say, 'just clicked', you are saying the starter motor doesn't turn? If this is the case, I would suspect the starter motor over the alternator or battery. But its a simple test, with some simple equipment to test the battery and alternator output which can be done before changing the starter motor.

I don't see that your radiator/thermostat being faulty is not allowing the car to turn over.
