Ok heres goes.

Last week my timing belt had snapped resulting in 5 bent valves after it snapped doing 40mph :(

now after some help from a friend i was able to get the valves and head done by a professional shop/garage and got it back the same day and rebuilt the engine back up to find it wouldn't start. Then realised we had set the timing 1 tooth out so fixed that problem and car started first time but with a judder and splutter :(

now after driving theres not much power when put foot down. when cold it splutters judders and wants to die. once warm theres no power and it judders slightly when idling.

error codes where throttle /pedal sensor. and a 1157 code ( fuel?? )

i have tried everything except a new engine.

Heres everything have tried

second hand throttle body
second hand throttle pedal x2
deleted plug behind glove box
brand new could pack
brand new plugs
all new air intake pipes
map sensor

only thing i haven't tried is a lambda sensor but have one on the way from ebay.

Any help guys and gals please as i am about to scrap this C3 and be happy watching the crushing machine squash it into a small block of metal if it doesn't get sorted soon :( i am literally going bald from the stress.

P.S. Have read as much as i can find and almost everything points to the pedal, throttle body and ply behind glove box.

Welcome to the forum hebby
and a 1157 code ( fuel?? )
P1157 could be
P1157 Lack of HO2S 22 switching - Sensor indicates lean

What are the P codes you get for:
error codes where throttle /pedal sensor.
Which codes do you have that won't clear or return quickly?

Black plugs could be due to low compression, check with a cheap compression tester (here)

for the past 3 days have been getting this one
P0123 Citroen C3 error code
P0123 Citroen C3 error code
P0123

And the same one ( forgot number ) but says voltage low instead of high and the P1157
the other 11 codes it says ( top right corner ) are just from when belt snapped so i was getting all sorts of codes to do with valves being open and injectors and so on but since cleared they have stayed clear just these codes that say about the throttle pedal sensor and the P1157 code :(

P0123 Wiring short to positive, Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) - anywhere from the pedal to the engine ECU.

Is it possible that some of the wiring from the TPS to the ECU could have been damaged while removing and refitting the head?

To diagnose this fault, it will require an initial inspection of the wiring and then test for shorts between the signal and live (supply) wires that connect the engine ECU to the Throttle Pedal.

also, with the battery disconnected, remove the 3 plugs from the engine ECU and check there is no coolant in the ECU sockets:

i already checked the plug on the ECU.

i may have to inspect the wires later today but they are all in the same loom wrapped together with every other wire :( i may need to cut away the stuff wrapping them all together to inspect. :(

Are you sure that 5 bent valves was the only damage when the timing belt snapped?
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

Yeah as the shop/garage that did my head checked it over and said it was 5 bent valve where i thought it was 4.

The garage is a very reputable place for having your engine done and know most places like peugeot, citroen and ford send there engine parts to be repaired. i know this as i had a peugeot 206 with a busted head gasket and when took it to peugeot they said they would send it to said place and would be repaired.

Have also just given the wiring a quick once over and can't see any split or open wires anywhere. I'm going to have the glove box out properly later and will check further and see whats what. i may even go to scrap yard and get a new wire that goes from the peddle to the plug behind the glove box and see if that has any effect :(

Are the plugs wet or dry?
