there dry.

i think it may be a electrical fault for sure as it seems to have picked up a little now after messing with the wires but ill soon know first thing when i start it up and if it wants to die then something is still wrong but either way I'm going to have the wire out and swap it with a different one anyway just to be on the safe side ;)

Have you checked for air leaks in the intake side?

In the good old days of carburettors I'd have said your symptoms. or rather your engine's, are those of a poor mixture.

I wonder if your throttle pedal sensor problem is a red herring when it comes to the poor running? At worst I'd expect this sort of problem to cause some sort of limp mode, possibly loss of power, not poor running though.

Have checked for air leaks and couldn't find anything. maybe a new/second hand inlet?

As for the red herring pedal it could possibly be but why do i keep on getting the same code? the same one that says throttle/pedal sensor?

Have also had a friend who is a mechanic and he has checked for air leaks and he also said it does sound like an air leak but he couldn't find one :(

i have checked almost everything i can think of or what i can find online and still have the same problem. When i get some time tomorrow i will single out the throttle/peddle wire remove it and have a good look and will go to the scrap yard ( french car one near me ) and see if i can remove the said wire from one of there scrappers in the yard.

whilst I'm there i there i will remove an inlet and swap them over and see whats what. This problem is really annoying now and its prob going to be one of them where its right under your nose and you want to slap yourself in the face and say " What an idiot how did you not see that " lol

** UPDATE **

Singled the throttle wires and removed them from car and checked for splits/shorts and couldn't find any. It did come up with a new code P2101
P2101 Throttle fault Citroen C3
P2101 Throttle fault Citroen C3
i also deleted the plug from the throttle side and replaced it with a different one.

i think i will also delete the throttle body plug and replace that one too just in case. I checked under the battery tray for any split wires and traced all the way from the throttle body to the bulkhead and into the passenger side and couldn't see any split wires.

i will update as i go along.

P0121 is probably due to you disconnecting the throttle pedal plug found in the passenger compartment or its still faulty.

When the instructions for that plug say 'delete' the connector, it's a translation from the French information and should be translated as 'remove' the connector. Not to be confused with 'replace'.

Remove would mean cutting off the wires and soldering them together, which is the solution for that faulty plug and socket combination.

Do you have a picture of the plug and socket and a picture of the location of the plug and socket on the car, we don't currently have a picture of either of these for other forum members to see.

I would have " removed " the plug from the pedal but theres nothing to solder wires back onto so if it was faulty i replaced it.

A throttle body problem is more consistent with the symptoms you have, it would cause poor idling and mixture problems.

A good clean often helps if it is that.
