Can anyone help me, I bought a Lovely Citroen C3 the other day she is to be my first car. The only problem the man said was the speedo didn't work. I thought ok my husband and brother in law could fix that.......Well after looking on here and other websites we found it could be the speedo sensor so we got one, fitted it and it still doesn't work. Can anyone please help me???????
Thank you

Hi c-jay22

Does the car have ABS?

Before changing any expensive parts, it would be a good idea to do some diagnosis, check for speed sensor signal, test the speedo and check for faults stored. Use lexia from this link. You can read up a bit about lexia in this link.

Thanks, that is a good start :)

I have added to my original reply (a bit confusing?) but my advice is how I would proceed if I came across this fault.

Not normally, but if its a later version of speedo (they look the same, so you can't tell by looking), the BSI may need a software upgrade to communicate with the new speedo.

Use the lexia tool found in the links above to do the upgrade, but you can do all the diagnostics I mentioned while its connected.

Using Lexia you can do everything a dealer can do including adding new keys and remotes for the central locking.

Unless you are fitting an original radio there is no programming required?
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried
