Hi all,
First post here, have had my 2007 1.1 desire C3 around 6 months. Do a fair bit of driving and happy so far 😁
Just would like some tips to ensure it stays in tip top condition.
Have already replaced: Cam Belt, water pump at 95,000 miles, full service, new earth cable to rear light to stop warning light (thanks to this site 😁) springs and anti roll bar.
Is there anything else that should be kept an eye or routinely replaced (other than tyres etc)
I think she is still on the original battery, any recommendations for change?
The mileage is just coming up to 96,000 as well.
Regards.

Hello C3RIS

If you have done the front springs then the dampers should also have been done at the same time. Also check the condition of the top mounts while the strut is out.

The lower control arm bushes wear out at 100K and its easier to change the complete lower arm, Assuming you can get the bolts out, which you will have to do anyway with just the bushes. Do this when you are doing the roll bar bushes.

Check the condition of the rear exhaust hanger, they get rusty and break on some models.

Check the condition of the engine mounts, they can get worn and sloppy at over 100K miles.

That's excellent, sorry I should've said the struts and anti roll bar have also been sorted. Just didn't know whether to list or not.
I will look at exhaust hanger and get the engine mounts checked in a few months when my partners car is being serviced.
I will also mention the work isn't carried out by myself so will all be garage work I'm afraid, but I have sourced a good garage at least.
I'm just a 'prevention is better than cure' type these days.
