Hi Guys,

A freind of mine has a 2003 1.4 Petrol citeron C3.
She says its always been the same in the 12 months she has had it.
At first there was the engine warnning lamp on, the garage she got it from said it was the CAT so they said they changed it.
Again the light came on, the said the CAT was faulty again so changed it. Now wether they did or not .....

Now no warnning lamps on but its gutless. I had to use first gear to get up a road that my cars get up in third!
And fuel mpg is about 25mpg???

any pointers etc?

You will need to check for the OBD error codes with one of these cheap readers (on Amazon) and take it from there

I would expect O2 errors, but you can't second guess them ;) Reading the codes will give you results much better than a guess.

O2? Are you thinking O2 sensor?

The one in the link above is less than £20 and is a generic reader.

The generic readers will work in the engine faults of a petrol powered Citroen C3.

I would guess some of the codes you get will relate to O2 sensors, not necessarily because they are faulty, but poor fuel consumption could be due to poor mixture which will give you O2 codes and you mentioned cat problems which are also detected by the difference between the 2 O2 sensors.

But without actually seeing what the codes are, its only my guessing ;)
