I was talking to the parts department this morning, as well as a dipstick I wanted the price for a replacement key for my 2002 Citroen C3LX and I was quoted £115, it included the blade, key remote fob and programing it all to the car and oh yes, don't forget the 7 pence for the screw.
I have seen various blades and bits on eBay, has anyone here purchased one of these and did they work alright? Are the fobs programable in car or do I need someone to do it?
Thanks for you help.

Hi tonentrace
I have had these parts from eBay to repair the buttons on a worn out key (you get the buttons, blade and screw) and swap over the blade and circuit board from the old key to the new shell, no reprogramming required.
There is a post about a new key and some information about what can and can't be done:
and there is some useful information about re-pairing keys to the car here.
Is this to replace a (faulty) key or is this an additional key?a replacement key for my 2002 Citroen C3LX

I'm in Market Rasen.
The key isn't a replacement but the need for a second/backup key. Going to have a word with the neighbour to see if they can find the spare in their late sister's belongings. If they can't I will have to source one myself.

If you don't find the spare key, let me know I may be able to help, I'm just the other side of Louth.
I haven't found a way around buying the keyfob from a dealer but a genuine Valeo blade can be sourced and cut in many places.
