ignition switch problem? (starter stays engaged)

ok guys after a little investigation and bk tracking i found the replacement starter to be faulty
wot i did was check the older starter whilst it was off and the bendix was indeed sticking in wen engaged.
so i decided to remove the starter replaced and test that, and that to also was faulty with the bendix sticking in! replaced with another and all is good at the min.

now as per my 1st post, i replaced the starter initially and it was fine for 2 days. what i am wondering is if there could be an underlying fault to cause the replacment starter to become faulty? do u guys think there could be, and if so wot could it be?

i suppose only time will if there is an underlying fault or not!

Hi i am from denmark and stands with the same problem on a c3 1.4 from 2007. How did you fix the problem ? i haved changed the starter 3 times now.

Fit a new starter motor.

Ived just changed it 2 times. First time was 4 month ago and it just keept cranking til it melted together the second did the same after 3 days.

If you start at the top of the topic, the beginning is the 'change the ignition switch' when that was changed and it still had a problem, the starter was changed again. It looks like both of them needed changing to fix it.
