Asked this one before with no reply. Is it wise to use an adative (Redex) or similar to lubricate injectors.
Citroen say none whatsoever when car is new. My motor is 2008 1.4 petrol at 37.000 miles.
Your thoughts please.

That's probably a bit to soon to start worrying about cleaning injectors, but adding it won't do any harm. The claims by holts redex are that it can (amongst other things)My motor is 2008 1.4 petrol at 37.000 miles.

protect the fuel system against corrosion.

Which can only be a good thing.
Redex on a discount price available here via Amazon.
There are several different packaging colours, and the green one mentions 'injectors', the other colours talk about carburettors. I don't know if the stuff in the bottle changes though

The flagship injector cleaner and fuel system corrosion inhibitor is 'Redex Advanced'.

Thanks for your interest. In fifty years of motoring i have never seen a dirty carb, petrol cleans. Redex do mention injectors on the red container. My main concern was re the catalyst as a long serving mechanic told me of his concern in that respect. Wanted to see if a few ideas came back.

If you wanted to clean catalysts and O2 sensors, you could try some 'Cataclean'My main concern was re the catalyst as a long serving mechanic told me of his concern in that respect.
there is lots of cataclean on ebay although I have never tried it.
What was your mechanics concerns with the cat/redex?

I think you will have heard of first hand stories of damaged cats by now if there was an issue as all UK petrol cars were fitted with a cat since 1993. That's plenty of time to meet someone who had a problem after adding a petrol additive.Missed my point there Guru, twas concern about damage to catalyst.
