Hi all again !! i have been having a long running problem with my 1.6 petrol auto c3 on a 08 plate.
It just will not turn over lots of life in battery and starter will turn engine over if the wires are shorter at the back so put it on lexia and it comes up with "ENGINE ECU RECEPTION NO SIGNAL FAULT U1108 " any clues
Thanks
fault code U1108, won't turn over

Hi TOMMIEBOY
The OBD codes that start with a letter U are related to the networking connection between the various computers in the car (The BSI/Engine ECU/ABS ECU/COM2000) etc.
so
As yours is an Auto, I think the problem nay be Automatic Gearbox ECU communication with the engine ECU.
It could be something like a blown fuse for the automatic gearbox ECU or something more complicated as I have listed above.

Is a network connection (CAN BUS) problem in that the ENGINE ECU can't talk to other ECUs on the CAN BUS. This could be due to a faulty Engine ECU, or wiring damage or connector contaminated - maybe damp or some other ECU clogging up the network.ENGINE ECU RECEPTION NO SIGNAL FAULT U1108

Thanks on lexia the Autobox ecu came back with no faults however i have just checked all the ecu,s and there is what looks like one sitting behind the battery against the bulkhead which has what looks like water damage ( white fur ) on top around the plugs so i will check that out in the light.
As for the gearbox that seems to be working as the letters change on the dash and you can hear a click when the brake is depressed but there is a buzzing when it is put into D ? any idea where the fuse would be for the auto again thanks for the help

That sounds like the Power Steering ECU, like the one in the picture below:here is what looks like one sitting behind the battery against the bulkhead which has what looks like water damage ( white fur ) on top around the plugs so i will check that out in the light.
The fuse sounds ok, but I don't know which fuse is the Auto gearbox, but there are only 2 fuse boxes and not too many fuses to check all of them.As for the gearbox that seems to be working as the letters change on the dash and you can hear a click when the brake is depressed but there is a buzzing when it is put into D ? any idea where the fuse would be for the auto again thanks for the help
You should find the links to all the fuse box layouts from Arfur Dents post about fuses here, if you find the fuse, it can be added to the diagram.

Sorry, I don't know if ENGINE ECU RECEPTION NO SIGNAL FAULT U1108 is linked to the PowerSteering ECU and can stop the car from turning over.
If part of the network is damaged, then I don't see why it wouldn't cause all sorts of problems in other parts of the car, like starting.
